I had the pleasure of having one of my looks from my Spring 2012 Metropolis Collection featured in Angela Simmons "Electric Daze" presentation! I was one among 4 other designers, Ron Bass being one of the most popular, to have our garments shown at the super chic presentation. My neon yellow crop tank top, and matching sequin skirt definitely added the perfect "electric" touch to the already edgy and chic designs presented.
Every new fashion designer has a wish list of people that they would love to see in their garments. Whether actors, performers or the fly chick in the neighborhood, there is someone that we feel would represent our brand.
One of the people on my wish list of SwiyyahCouture stunters is Baltimore's hip-hop, pop dope chick Rye Rye (along with Santigold, Kelis, M.I.A and a couple of other true innovators).

So yesterday was the first day of Fashion Week( the best week EVER) and I decided to take my talents to the Lord & Taylor event. I must say I had a blast! My first intentions were to just stop through then end my night in the Meat Packing District, but once l got to L&T I couldn't get out of there! Unlimited drinks, banging DJ's on every floor and TON'S of possible clients! Hey a up and coming designer has to to do what she's gotta do! My show stopper and conversation starter was definitely my newest creation the SwiyyahCouture Willy Wonka dress. Heads turned ALL night! Needless to say the start of Fashion Week for a productive one for your girl! Let the fun begin!!!
Now that the summer is considered to be over that means the summer trends are too :( my favorite summer trend was splashes of neon(though some days I was drenched in neon). Particularly my SwiyyahCouture neon yellow leather bow necklane with sliver spikes. For Such a bright eye catching piece of jewelry it sure was versatile! I love it so much that I'm even thinking about breaking fashion rules (as usual) and rocking my neon piece during the fall season also. Think I can pull it off????
Made a new dress called the fruity pebble dress. It's a sweet heart body con dress that's below knee length in a fun blue animal print with hot pink and black accents.
